So I've been volunteering with the Canal & River Trust for just coming up to a year - and as I record my total days and hours each month, it's time to announce the sums for this past year.

In total, I've contributed
103 days, consisting of
445 volunteer hours. Including towpath ranger patrols, towpath task-force clean ups, special events, training days, a few hours of admin duties and meetings and a whole lot of boat moves.

Actually, I've spent
32 days, that's
197 hours as crew on various Trust boats, but mainly on their moving welcome station, Jena, a boat with which I am now intimately familiar.
I've had training in Basic Fire and Water safety and simple life saving, Health and Safety practice, completed my RYA Inland Water Helmsmanship certificate, and started as a lead volunteer.
I'm quite proud of everything I've achieved so far - learned a lot, sometimes from my own over-enthusiastic mistakes - and I'm looking forward to what I can do these next twelve months.
I too am very proud of you and pleased you have found something you love.
